The 28th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America

Posted on

Short and sweet. I’ve not had my coffee yet, so this is the best I can do.

The Constitution has 27 Amendments. Not 28.

I feel like that crazy guy in the movie There’s Something About Mary, when he’s yelling about 7-minute Abs.

This whole thing got started a few years ago when it was just one of those things emails that gets passed around the internet and posted to every social media site by people who have no idea what they’re talking about.

This past August, Ron DeSantis of Florida and Matt Salmon of Arizona introduced H.J.Res.55, which says that “Congress shall make no law respecting the citizens of the United States that does not also apply to the Senators and Representatives.” You can read up on it right here: H.J.Res.55 at the Library of Congress

So, once again, please tell your family, your friends, your coworkers, your dentist or whoever that Amendment 28 doesn’t exist.

Best,
Clyde O. Watson
